Salmon Run

Not much to say here, really. Some were nearly three and a half feet long.

So...can you stand in the river and scoop them out onto the bank? I think I saw that in a movie once. Can it be done or do they move too fast?

I think you probably could just scoop them out. They're swimming upstream and struggling pretty hard against the current, tired out because they're near or at the spawning grounds. There's always a few dead floaters around to help with one's potential appetite. We were watching from a bridge near a hatchery and could see them do the little furious wiggle in the sand/gravel which indicates the placement of the eggs.

Wild stuff, nature.
